Super Nani (Tamil: சௌப் நாணி) is a 2011 Tamil-language drama film directed by N. Lingusamy and produced by Rockline Venkatesh. The film stars Jyothika, Abbas and Sonia Agarwal in lead roles and Vishnuvardhan in a supporting role. The film was simultaneously shot in Telugu as well with the same title of Super Nani starring Pranitha Subhash, Nassar, Murali Sharma and Vennela Kishore which was released on 24 October 2011 while the Tamil version released on 11 November 2011. Anu (Jyothika) is a shy young girl who was born on the day of Maha Sivarathri. Her mother had received a dream that she will get married to Prabhu (Vishnuvardhan), son of Advocate Natarajan (Nassar). The mother passed away from cancer while Anu was just a newborn. When her father Govindasamy (Murali Sharma) became very old and died, Anu was brought up by a new family consisting of a student called Sri Krishnan and his wife Parvathi. She loves him very much but her sister Dhanu's bad behaviour made it difficult for him to marry her though he loves her too. Finally he loses his hope and decides to marry Anu, who is now grown up. However the marriage was stopped by Parvathi's brother (Prakash Raj), who knows that Krishnan is not her brother and they both married each other secretly. Though they love each other, the differences between them makes it difficult for them to live with each other. The difference becomes more prominent when Krishnan learns that Anu's father Govindasamy was forced to sell his own land by his sister Dhanu (Sonia Agarwal), so Krishnan decides to give her money so their family can settle the land issue. Anu and Krishnan's love for each other and the eventual mental and physical separation of them makes it an emotional story. The film collected 1.45 crore on its first day making it a blockbuster in its first weekend. The Telugu version of the film released on 24 October 2011 with small changes. The regional censor board gave the film an "A" certificate for obscene language and some other issues, which restricted its screening to adults only. Music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The audio launch function took place at Green Park Hotel in Chennai on 19 September 2011. N. Lingusamy, Jyothika, Abbas, Devi Sri Prasad conducted the audio function.
